The GP version uses a larger-width General Purpose wheel measuring 2.0-inch OD by .500-inch wide while retaining the same available shank sizes as the SA version.
The bar-style configuration can be an effective choice when the machine and workholding arrangement provide adequate room for the tooling and the application is suited to a conventional shank-mounted setup.
03 / Direct Mounting
Turret-Mount Cold Root Rolling Tools
For external pin applications where machine clearance or tooling integration presents additional challenges, the 11072-xxx-SA and GP Series introduces a direct turret/tool-post mounting configuration.
Because the tool mounts directly to the turret or tool post, the design also eliminates the need for a separate toolholder adapter. According to the product guide, its profile more closely resembles other OD turning tools, helping reduce potential interference with the machine’s chuck jaws and back wall.
Another design characteristic is the alignment of the rolling forces directly with the turret.
